Default openbsd 5.8 KDE core

Hi I would ask about specific question about new KDE in future openbsd 5.8
KDE 3.5.10 and 4.14.3 (plus KDE4 core updates)

May some one explain my because I can't find information what means
4.14.3 (plus KDE4 core updates)

The core update is new KDE or I will be able update KDE 4.14.3 for something new .

It is not clear what you are asking. Both KDE 3.5.10 and KDE 4.14.3 are available for 5.7, there was no significant change of releases for 5.8.

You may continue to use KDE 3, or switch to using KDE 4. And you may make the switch now.

KDE 4 uses meta packaging, which is significantly easier than the individual installations needed for KDE 3.

Just install it using either # pkg_add kde4 for the full installation, or use # pkg_add kde4-minimal for a minimal installation.

If this didn't answer your question, could you ask it again?

The CVS log for the 58.html web page states, of that line, "Mention that KDE4 core components received maintaince (sic) updates after 4.14.3."

Googling indicates that this may refer to the KDE "core libraries" -- kdelibs. There were maintenance updates to the kdelibs port between 5.7 and 5.8. Details are in the CVS log for /usr/ports/x11/kde4/libs/Makefile.

But if you wish to make certain, you can ask Vadim Zhukov (zhuk@). It's his commit to the 58.html web page.
