Default unsigned package ... install anyway?

I'm getting the UNSIGNED PACKAGE warning when I try to install a package on a 9-day old current-snapshot (with no packages installed).

Is this a mere matter of mirrors and snapshot not being in sync anymore or should I suspect sth. more serious?

I was going to upgrade anyway, just wanted to know how to interpret the warning.
