How in the world do you get that? .NET is OK if you only run Windows and have a team of 10 programmers with nothing else to do.

LOL!

This is funny because my company hired a team of 4 programs to re-write a website I did in PHP to .NET, so far they have been working on it for 14 months and missed every dead line. My PHP version is still chugging away waiting to be replaced. The lead for the team said he needs 6 more dedicated programmers - or outsource it to china!

I've been looking at Python with cheetah for web programming, pretty nice ... Python is a much better language than PHP IMO (Not that this is such a difficult thing to accomplish), only downside is web-server support isn't as wide-spread as PHP.

Python is on my list of "next language to learn". Many years ago, I put a site up that wasn't much more than "Hello, world" using Python and never touched it after that. Should have paid more attention.

I really like Python also. I use it for all my desktop needs on BSD and I've even been able to switch all of my command line programming at work in windows to it.

I just haven't had time to work with it on the web, but I think it had more potential then PHP but it just not as widely supported yet.
