Default First official HTML5 tests topped by...Microsoft

From http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/11...ormance_tests/

Quote:
The Worldwide Web Consortium has released the results of its first HTML5 conformance tests, and according to this initial rundown, the browser that most closely adheres to the latest set of web standards is...Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.

Yes, the HTML5 spec has yet to be finalised. And yes, these tests cover only a portion of the spec. But we can still marvel at just how much Microsoft's browser philosophy has changed in recent months.

They use the IE 9 beta, Firefox 4 beta, but Opera 10.60 and not the Opera 11 beta ...

The w3c page does include Opera 11 strangely enough, which is just about on par with IE9:
http://test.w3.org/html/tests/reporting/report.htm

For HTML5 they both have 100%

Personally, I find CSS3 more interesting than HTML5 ...

Amen to that. Now if only it had the same scale of big pushing that HTML5 has had, compared to say, the same old slop.
