Anyone Using FreeBSD-8-Current?
Hi!
I see that a recent snapshot of 8-current has been released. Is 8-current stable enough to use as a desktop system? Pros/cons etc? TIA |

If you want something STABLE enough for a desktop system, you should use the leading stable branch instead of release or current :-P
I can't speak on the stablity of 8 current atm like some can, but I know there is nothing that says it will remain stable at any given moment.

I used it for a while on my T61 because onloy CURRENT supports the intel 4695 wireless NIC.
Didn't experience any problems, everything seemed pretty stable. Quote:
