disappearing threads
After reading a thread as shown in a list by clicking on the "New Posts" link it disappears from view if I re-click on the "New Posts" link. I order to reread the thread, I have to either search via keyword or remember where it was posted at.
It does not appear to be a user CP setting, because another board that is running 3.7.1 does not exhibit the same behavior. It would be nice to know how to keep this from happening. Thanks. Last edited by crayoxide; 12th August 2008 at 11:13 PM. |

Well this isn't surprising. Once you read it, it's no longer a new post, now is it? :-)
If you want to go back to that thread, you can go to "Quick Links" --> "Todays Posts" and get a listing of all posts in the last 24 hours. Adam |

www.radioreference.com is the forum where "new posts" stay in the view after being read and refreshed.
They may have mapped the Quick Links > Todays Posts search to the "New Posts" search ... |

hrmmm .. welp they may have went further and dinked with the code since the search URL is the same as DF's:

Could you please put a "Todays Posts" link next to the "New Posts" and/or replace it?
The reason why I ask is because, from my point of view, nearly all of the vBulletin sites that I visit have this same behavior except for DF and it is very handy to be able see the big picture of what is going on. Here is another one where the "New Posts" search is the same: http://www.cngchat.com/forum/index.php |

The behaviour on DF is the default.
I'll look at swapping the buttons, or something like that ... I agree that ``Today's posts'' is more useful, but I don't want to completely remove ``New posts'' for people who prefer that.
