Tried a bit more on this, as I can't figure out why it's not working. The top two lines of the Makefile
Code:
GTK_VERSION?= gtk3
ifeq ("${GTK_VERSION}", "gtk2")
I've tried the variants I mentioned above and also tried changing the top line to gtk2. However, when I type make I'm getting
Code:
Package gtk+-3.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gtk+-3.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'gtk+-3.0' found
Package webkitgtk-3.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `webkitgtk-3.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'webkitgtk-3.0' found
Not a major issue usage wise as I can get the most important (to me) things with the chrome and firefox extensions, but irritating nonetheless. And, of course, this is a BSD, not a CentOS forum, so I'm not really looking for help, just whining a bit.

I can confirm that NetSurf is by far the best Browser on OpenBSD 5.5 (short of problems on big indian). This post has been typed on NetSurf. Xobrero is OK but WebKit feels bloated. Firefox feels like Mozilla Suite before it died.

Look, it's great that you guys are willing to use it and all. But please consider contributing. This stuff doesn't just get better by using it.

sw2wolf: Netsurf doesn't support JavaScript in a (meaningful) way yet. This is why the link you offer doesn't display properly.

Trust me I would gladly spend time contributing OpenBSD. I even have my todo list (browser is not on that list) but working 70 hours a week and two kids I have little time left for anything.

Working on OpenBSD sounds like a bad job, always having Theo in the back. Well, I'd prefer to work upstream on NetSurf anyway, so the browser itself is improved for everyone.

I've taken to using xombrero lately. I like the built-in security stance, paired it up with adsuck. Not too fond of the need for webkitgtk3, but aside from that, it's a pretty fine browser. Also have netsurf installed.

All browsers based on WebKit, i feel both DWB and Luakit are great if you like VIM.

xombrero with tor and polipo and adsuck is what i use for the most part. i like xombrero's minimalist approach, but yet still being very functional on most sites. dillo and netsurf just don't function as well for me despite being minimalist. xombrero runs very well on even modest hardware in my experience -- and it is quite simple to configure to browse with a degree of privacy. the only note I should add is this: using Tor does cause a degree of lag while browsing.

^ Adsuck seems to work very well with xombrero, for me.
