Default I've read the installation guide...but!

whether or not wireless will be working on my compaq presario m2000 laptop, IT WORKS UNDER PCBSD BY DEFAULT if that means anything...

Also, I plan on installing kde4 from packages...

will a gui network manager come with the installation?

I'm going to try my hand at it either way...but I'm just curious...
