Default cwm: how do I get the menu-exec-wm function to work?

When I start cwm with no ~/.cwmrc just using the defaults I can bring up the "exec WindowManager" menu with Ctrl+Alt+w. I then see the small popup with the prompt between the two double brackets:
Code:
wm »«
The problem is, nothing happens when I enter any commands like fvwm for example. Is there some special magic to it? Am I overlooking sth.?

yea ... It doesn't work for me either on current. I am pretty sure I remember using that functionality about 6 months ago (was on current then).

By doing a:
Code:
tail -f .xsession-errors
and then Ctrl+Alt+w, followed by fvwm (or twm), I get this:
Code:
error 8: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) request 142 minor 6 serial 18384433
error 9: BadDrawable (invalid Pixmap or Window parameter) request 139 minor 4 serial 18384434
error 4: BadPixmap (invalid Pixmap parameter) request 54 minor 0 serial 18386834
Don't really know what that means, and I am a cwm fan boy, so it's not really a problem for me, but you are not crazy. It does not appear to be working like it used to.

Thanks for confirming my doubts, vns3. After reading your reply I remembered to try it on another box that still runs 6.1. (Could've tried that earlier, I know... ) And it works perfectly there, too.

At least now I know how it's supposed to behave when it works and that it's probably not my fault that it doesn't.
