Default NetBSD 5.1.1

Has anyone heard about a NetBSD minor release? I was looking for something to try during the cold weather and found this
NetBSD 5.1.1

The NetBSD-announce mailing list does not mention it.

It also looks that there are precompiled binaries for 5.1.

Interesting, thanks. Don't know anything about it as I don't follow mailing lists. But I'll keep an extra eye on that area to see if something turns up. RIght now I'm using a NetBSD 5.1.0_PATCH.

The availability of 5.1.1 did not seem to be very coordinated. The *.iso's were built 18Dec2011 and there is no announcement/discussion. I have not had much luck with NetBSD so I do not follow development very closely. I do not recall if prior NetBSD releases went though beta/release candidate testing. Given the lack of an official blessing, should this be viewed as something in testing or a release. Anyone with inside information?

I still cannot find information on the topic. I did a test install and noticed that pkg_add was crying that 5.1-STABLE compiled packages were for a different version (vs. 5.1.1), but they worked nevertheless.

I know FreeBSD sometimes uploads a newer release a day or two prior to announcement (even with 9.0-RELEASE right now), but in this case NetBSD 5.1.1 has been available for download for some time now. Packages are still compiled against a 5.1, though.
