Default Disable console on Multi User Mode

Dear All,

I would like to disable the console access on multi user mode.
How to achieve this purposes?
Edit the /etc/ttys file to unknown off rather than vt220 on?

Thanks.

Why are you wanting to do this? What does disabling gain?

Just change on -> off. There is no need to change the terminal type on something you are disabling anyway.

I would like to minimize any mistake/hacking from outsider. Thus, I only require to access the console from single user mode.

An outsider will not have access to your console. An insider will have physical access, but disabling the console in multi-user mode will not protect the system. Per FAQ 8.1:
Quote:
...If an attacker has physical access to your system, they win....Making your computer difficult to manage properly isn't real security, and if you don't have the physical machine secured, you have no real security.
Here's a convenient link to FAQ 8.1.
