Default What's up with O'Reilly Network?

This is my moment to rant, or at least publicly show frustration.

I have respected & frequented O'Reilly Network for several years. The quality of technical information there has been more complete & consistent than on most other sites, & it was reasonably organized by sections -- Networking, Perl, Python, Databases, XML, BSD, etc. However in returning today to poke about, I find a new presentation format:

http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/q/articles

...which is simply unusable.

Not to be a Luddite pining for the days of old, but this new slick magazine format is ghastly at best. It's difficult to find any of the old sections, let alone older articles. I know that maintaining such a site has to be costly & time-consuming, but has anyone found any information describing what is going on?

This can't be progress...

Although I don't follow their articles too much, I can't see what the problem is with the webpage.

I discovered that OnLamp was still untouched after I posted. I am still disappointed as the O'Reilly Network page server led as a transition into http://www.onlamp.com with a higher emphasis on new articles.

I can only guess that O'Reilly is wanting to morph their image into a grander user-friendlier techno/socio-publisher than strictly a geek-fest,. Placing more distance between their emerging image & OnLamp appears to be intentional.
