/etc/rc.d/nsd and rcctl doesn't stop or restart
Hi Guys,
I'm setting up nsd on my openbsd 6.0 and I've found out that neither /etc/rc.d/nsd stop|restart nor rcctl stop|restart nsd works. I also found out that both have the same problem not only with nsd. A person in obsd mailing list had the same problem, but left with no answer. http://openbsd-archive.7691.n7.nabbl...-td262283.html Moreover, when I kill the process manually and start it again I get nsd(failed) even though /var/log/nsd.log shows it stared ok. Any ideas? |

I don't use nsd, but could it be that you left remote-control disabled?
man nsd.conf: "The remote-control: clause is used to set options for using the nsd-control(8) tool to give commands to the running NSD server. It is disabled by default" The rc script uses nsd-control to stop the server. See also the "Set up" section of nsd-control(8). |

In the meantime I enabled nsd-control and the rc script started working. Thanks a lot for your help anyway
Unfortunately, now I get this: error: connect (127.0.0.1@8952): Connection refused Does this have to do with certificates? |
