Default Inappropriate ioctl for device

I get this error when I try to start the wifi,
Code:
parrot# ifconfig re0 nwid "Telcel-A757" wpakey "***pswd*****"
ifconfig: SIOCS80211NWID: Inappropriate ioctl for device
ifconfig: SIOCS80211WPAPSK: Inappropriate ioctl for device
I should have gotten some more details, it is a HP laptop, and I need to copy the out put o a usb device, then use the other PC, to post here. Besides the ifconfig output, and "dmesg", if there is anything else , please let me know. I looked at 'man ioctl' but do not understand what to do,... thanks

This is the "ifconfig":
Code:

pflog0: flags=141<UP,RUNNING,PROMISC> mtu 33136

And this is the "dmesg" output:

To follow up, your Broadcom combo WiFi / Bluetooth interface is not supported.

I replaced Wifi card in my laptop. Used cards are quite cheap. Maybe it is possible for your laptop too.

If not, there's always a USB-based solution.

Thanks, yea I am thinking about that, either changing the card or a usb device,...the laptop is pretty old though, but still works really well. A few years ago when I was travelling more I used it, I used a mobile phone and was able to tether it, that worked well,..here at home I also have a modem and can use the cable just fine, the wired Ethernet. Thanks
