Default Initial Slackware announcement exactly 20 years old today.

Hope it's okay to refer to another forum site, but this seems quite a special occasion:

It's hard to believe, but it's been 20 years since this post. The first release (along with the first public mention of the name) followed 6 days later. I think I can safely say that a lot more people turned out to be interested in this than anticipated. Cheers!

Great. Proud Slackware user here. Though I was just 6 years old at the time of that announcement.

Regards.

Happy 25th anniversary to the Slackware 1.00 release! When the original
announcement went out on Usenet, I believe it had a UTC timestamp which has
led to some confusion over whether the anniversary falls on the 16th (which
was the date when I made the post) or on the 17th (which is when most people
first saw it)... but really, what's the difference? We can celebrate on both
days as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for sticking with the project all these
years. Glad I was able to help.
