On the address bar, type:

Code:
opera:config
Select Bittorrent, then uncheck "enable"

Now you know it. In fact, opera:config is a place to start hacking Opera

I dont think so, it is standard scheme:

I think it depends on version. At least my Opera doesnt have the torrent entry in the Download section

Another way to disable built-in torrent client is to edit the

~/.foo/opera6.ini

foo could be either native Opera or Linux-opera, then search for "torrent", change from 1 to 0

But I reakon the quickest way is to use the Preference editor

No, we introduced opera:config in Opera a long time after. Both are very different, too.

I'm pretty sure this works for all versions of Opera, since I have always used this method to disable the built-in bittorrent support.

Is the little Text Box that says Hide File Types Opened with Opera check, if so uncheck it and it should appear.
