Default Snapshot Packages Empty - part of commit?

Greetings, all - it's been awhile; and hope all is well with everyone.

I've a "Port Guard" level question for you:
Q1: I was using OBSD by means of installing snapshots, updating from time to time whenever my packages would no longer update due to library compatibilities, etc.

Noticed that we had a hard commit for 5.0 announced a few days ago; and since then, the snapshots/packages/"CPU_ARCH" folders have been emptied.

I looked around the sites a bit; but couldn't find any explanations, nor did I find a "development roadmap calendar" - like the ones found on the Linux Distros - listed on the OBSD site. (am I asking for a berating here?

Can anyone explain to me more about this phenomenon? I'm presuming dev efforts are being redirected to "clean up" the OS Snapshots and/or the 5.0 OS code for a few days. 6 weeks seems a bit too long to leave packages alone.

Thank you in advance!

This happens around release time, just wait for package builds to start up again.

OpenBSD 5.0 was tagged in CVS a month ago:

Before every -release, effort is moved from providing selected snapshot packages to building all packages for the release. I suspect this is why the directories are empty.

If you cannot wait for packages to reappear, you can build from the ports tree. However, reviewing Section 15.4.1 of the FAQ is in order. Not knowing how old your installation of -current is, downloading the ports tree today may not result in a synchronized tree. If you must build ports today, install or update to a new snapshot first.
