Default vBulletin date/time system

Dear admins,

I noticed this morning that the date/time system has been changed from something like Last Post Yesterday hh:mm to Last Post hh Hours Ago.

I don't know why it was changed and which system members prefer, but I often use Today's Posts and I find the old date/time system much better and easier to use and the dates/times in the new one vague and difficult to remember.

Thank you for reading.

Yeah, this was changed.

I wanted to change the date format to a less ambiguous one (Previously, the US style month-day-year was used), and I saw vB had the option to display this format ... I liked it so here we are

Personally, I find it more intuitive, most of the time you don't care when exactly a post was made, but more how long ago it was made (A subtle difference).

Unfortunately, it isn't an user option ...

Anyway, if more people dislike it, send me a message or reply to this thread, and I'll change it back ...

I could care less, as long as clicking "New Posts" up on the menu bar still works.

I personally like to know exactly when the post was made, but I could be in the minority.

EDIT: The forum does show exact dates past a certain point. I did not notice that before today.

I'll voice my preference for the date/time option. Of course, don't change it on my account, either; only three people (including me) seem to care enough to say anything.

I also prefer absolute times. The problem with relative times is I have to remember how long ago I last read the forum and do a mental calculation, rather than just memorizing a time.

But it's not a huge deal or anything.
