YUM Like Tool
Hi,
I want to install Nfsen on my OpenBSD firewall. I was able to download the tar.gz Nfsen package and ran the Code:
pkg_add -v nfsen-1.3.7.tar.gz It gives Code:
Can't find nfsen Is there any way to easily add packages to my OpenBSD firewall like in some Linux distributions by giving a command like Code:
yum install nfsen |

tar.gz? What is inside? I suppose source code. In that case you should
extract and compile/build that. Better way will be prepare a package and install it, even if you don't consider to add to ports tree. If inside is Gnu/Linux binary then there is in i386 compatibility layer with Gnu/Linux but this can be buggy solution. The best way nfsen exists inside OpenBSD ports tree and there is a package for it http://ports.su/net/nfsen http://openports.se/net/nfsen The best way is to configure pkg_add according to FAQ 15.2.2 [1] or man pkg.conf(5) [2] [1] http://www.openbsd.org/faq/faq15.html#Easy [2] http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/man.c...th=OpenBSD-5.8 |

If you are using OpenBSD 5.8 and already downloaded the package (nfsen-1.3.7p3.tgz), you can just go in your download directory and type :
Code:
pkg_add -v ./nfsen

I will add that only a very few package mirrors still have 5.3 packages available. Most only have 5.7 and 5.8, since that is what the Project currently supports. Here is one that retains historical packages, and still has 5.3 packages available:
