OpenBSD replacement for zoneminder
One more question and will leave you folks alone, I promise
My wife and I live on a farm and we have several network cameras to keep an eye on everything. In our cupboard in the hall we have a server running debian that has (among lots of other useful things) zoneminder installed. That way we can use any computer or our phones (handy dandy zmninja app) to look at the cameras if needs be. Since last month I've been using OpenBSD on my desktop and I'm hooked. It's minimalism is a breath of fresh air compared to some linux disro's I've used and I like to use it on my server as well. Most things it does are available for OpenBSD except for zoneminder. Is there a package (or port) that does a similar thing?

There was a port of zoneminder on the openbsd-wip ports repo, suggesting to me that if you wanted to build zoneminder yourself, it would work: https://github.com/jasperla/openbsd-...dia/zoneminder

Wow, that's great, thank you. I'll give that a go.
It hasn't been worked on for three years so I hope it works Still, if there's anything in OpenBSD's official packages or ports I still like to know

No no. Please don't use that wip port. That's not what I was suggesting.
I was suggesting you go grab the latest source code from the zoneminder repository and follow their build directions. |
