Automounting USB devices with HAL/KDE
Hi, I'm running FreeBSD 7.0 RELEASE and haven't been able to get either my USB pen drive or USB external hard drive to automount. CDs and DVDs do automount.
The devices show up fine when I check with dmesg/usbdevs. Things I have done: Installed HAL, added dbus_enable="YES" hald_enable="YES" to /etc/rc.conf Mounted proc: proc /proc procfs rw 0 0 in /etc/fstab PolicyKit.conf: <config version="0.1"> <match user="root"> <return result="yes"/> </match> <match action="org.freedesktop.hal.storage-mount-removable"> <match user="vinegaroon"> <return result="yes"/> </match> </match> <match action="org.freedesktop.hal.storage-mount-fixed"> <match user="vinegaroon"> <return result="yes"/> </match> </match> </config> /etc/devfs.rules: [lennys_rules=10] add path 'acd*' mode 0660 group operator add path 'da*' mode 0660 group operator added devfs_system_ruleset="lennys_rules" to /etc/rc.conf My user is a member of wheel and operator. I've rebooted/restarted KDE after all these things.. to no avail. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? EDIT: I just noticed my iPod does mount properly, but not the external hard drive. Could this have something to do with it being a large msdosfs volume? As in I need to use -o large to mount it via mount. Last edited by vinegaroon; 13th June 2008 at 11:21 AM. |
