Default SYSLOG disappearance

Hello,

It seems as if I have unknowingly lost my syslog at /var/adm/SYSLOG, it could have occurred sometime ago after my upgrade to O/S 6.0.

Looking at /etc/syslog.conf I couldn't find any corrective action to take.

Tried running from the command line
machine 1744% ls /var/adm/
ls: /var/adm/: No such file or directory
machine 1745% /usr/sbin/syslogd
syslogd: child pid 99237 exited with return code 1
machine 1746% ps -waux | grep SYSLOG
Could someone say what could have caused this and if it is indicative of some pending problem?

Thanks!
