The link asks one to join a group on Telegram. What's telegram? Most people using OpenBSD are security oriented, so I would be prepared to answer what data it collects, and what is the purpose of this group that isn't covered by the forums.

I don't see any reason, the link does not work using "Firerfox",
Quote:
Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (tg) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

You might need to install other software to open this address.
And when I tried with "links",...I get a message about needing "telegram",
No thanks,
to much trouble,...besides that I have all ways gotten good responses to any questions
I had here on this forum,..
Thanks for sharing any way.

Any way, while we are on the topic,
Quote:

I would enjoy talking about OpenBsd, especially now that I have it on my Laptop,
I am moving away from the other "linux" distro I was using , for many reasons,..
and have decided to make OpenBsd my choice,...so far it is going good.
Everything "just worked", ....have not encountered any problems that I need
help with yet ,.."knock on wood".
Actually my first experience with OpenBsd was over a year ago, and I had trouble
getting it to detect the "broad band" USB device,...but on a VM it worked fine and
I was able to make a internet connection, that way.
Now on this laptop, the wifi worked just fine, so no more VM.
I plan to try solving the "usb tethering" and broad ban issue now on the Desktop PC,
as well, but any way,...
This is what I have so far on the laptop,

So anyway, hope this is ok, I am under the impression this is what this
forum is for ,isn't it ? Talking about OpenBsd,..and if we have any problems ?

I do not know what a "a WhatsApp-like program" is, all though
I had heard my wife and kids mention "WhatsApp", so any way
I did a search, this is funny , from one of the results,...
Quote:
Telegram is a new app which was released just one and a half years ago. It’s actually WhatsApp on steroids.
But anyway, these are all apps for cell phones, and, things like iOS, Android, Windows, Other,.... So that kind of explains why I couldn't
connect to the link using computer , and Firefox or links,.....
The title of the thread and topic, is misleading,
Quote:
Let's talk about OpenBSD
But it seems to be more about some kinds of phone apps,...so anyway , my apology I thought it was a thread about OpenBsd, and
the link might be a OpenBsd oriented forum, that can be accessed
with a computer,...I don't even use those apps on my cell phone either,
all though I do get plenty of promotions, advertisements , trying to get me to download them,..

No, I don't think it is like irc , either.

What is WhatsApp-like program, Telegram
I was thinking the same, that it might be something like " Irc ", but
it does not appear to be, ---
One thing for sure, it is something I am totally unfamiliar with, so
that is all from me,...again my apology for misunderstanding the
topic.

Not me, sorry, I like forums.

(It also appears to be a mobile phone app, so that rules it out for me as well, as I don't have one.)

Agreed. The members who frequent DaemonForums have helped me out a lot over the years. I have no need of another portal. However, I wish you all the best with your app.
