Default Problems with Konsole in KDE4

I finally finished installing KDE4 ( 4.1.1 ) via ports ... . Everything except Konsole seems to be working fine. When I start it, it shows a blank window for some seconds and crashes and disappears. This has happened every time since the installation, No exceptions.

Is this a bug in konsole? or something else?... please advise any alternatives.

Default

never mind. It started working. I don't because of what exactly. I tweaked a few display options in kcontrol + installed the nvidia driver. maybe either of those did the trick.

But I still find there are lot of kinks in the KDE4 installation. My Firefox 3 renders some sites really weirdly and sometimes does not show some images at all....what is THAT all about ?
