Default Xorg + Xfce4 resolution problem

Hi!

When i set in xorg.conf resolution 1280x1024 displey don't show whole desktop. 1280x1024 is native resolution for my LCD Prestigion P171.

It look like




If i set resolution 1024x768 then show whole desktob but fonts and panel beacome blur (not clear).

Using Xorg 7.4_1 and Xfce 4.6.0

Note: at 1280x1024 fonts are clear!

Maybe you can try moving it with the front panel controls in the monitor itself.

fbsduser is probably right, you can see the brightness on the right side of the screen.. you might need to manually tweak the display settings.

Also, I would remove the HorizSync/VertRefresh lines.. let Xorg get the display settings itself.

you can try using xvidtune to move the image left, but the photo it looks like the horz. align. is pretty screwed so it may or may not work.
you might want to your xorg.conf settings. start by removing the horz. and vert. refresh rates as already suggested and using 24 bit colour (Depth).

Judging from the picture it sure does look like you've messed with the physical monitor setting.

Anyways check the output of /var/log/Xorg.0.log as it provides loads od precious info for troubleshooting.
