Default Restructured Ruby-on-Rails hits beta

From http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/02...ls_three_beta/

Quote:
The beta of the third, and restructured, edition of Ruby on Rails has been delivered.

Rails founder David Heinemeier blogged that Ruby on Rails 3.0 "feels lighter, more agile, and easier to understand" in spite of the changes.

This update is the result of almost 4,000 commits by more than 250 code authors. Completed code is planned for the current calendar quarter.

Wow! This comes just as I'm moving from Ruby to Python. I love Python's socket programming and am hoping it gets me ready to take on C socket programming. Looks like I'm going to be learning a new version of Rails soon. Dang.

Sockets are mostly sockets where ever you go, Pythons will be familiar enough to a C programmer and doing the inverse. Last time I played with Rubies interface, it was less so like BSD sockets, but still easy to use.
