Default MPlayer skins for solaris

hi

The skins tha come with Mplayer on Solaris are
rather boring to look at.

Are there available skins for Mplayer on Solaris and t if not
can i obtain Mplayer skins from FreeBSD.org and use them?

Thank You

The FreeBSD port just gets them off the web.

You can find a bunch at the bottom of this page which is probably the ones from FBSD ports. Just download the files and unpack them into ~/.mplayer/skins.

If you want all users to use them, mplayer does search in other areas for system wide skin files. On FreeBSD this is /usr/local/share/mplayer/skins -- I can't say about Solaris.

You can make your own if you want, might take a good while to make a nice looking one though.

If Solaris's tar lacks bzip2 support like OpenBSDs,

Code:
cd /opt/csw/share/mplayer/skin/
bunzip2 -c /path/to/yourskinfile.tar.bz2 | tar xf -

Yes actually i used Bunzip2 and tar -xvf
after i open the bz2 i notice there was a tar file in that as well

At first i was using Gunzip and i did not know what was wrong, till i looked it up on web and had seen that
i spelled it all wrong. Gun instead of Bun.

Everything went well but its funny after all the time
i have used KDE on BSD i never thought i would miss Gnome.

It so much more light weight and less fuss
Kde just looks cooler and has alot more configurations.
