Default DisplayLink USB VGA + OpenBSD

I have a DisplayLink USB to VGA video card that I wanted to get working with OpenBSD. The adapter is an EVGA UV12+, known internally as a DisplayLink DL120 chipset.

So I plugged it in, added the device's vendor ID and product ID and recompiled a 4.8 kernel. I booted the new kernel and the device was recognized, udl was loaded and when I plug in a monitor, I get a solid black screen ( but at least not a 'No Signal' prompt!).

My question now is, how do I attach a console to this new display? I know you can create new TTYs, but how can I attach one to the udl's video resources?
