Default Openbsd 5.1 review on Distrowatch.com

As a relative newcomer to Openbsd, I decided to write a review of the 5.1 release for Distrowatch.com from a desktop user's perspective. Openbsd has come a long way in terms of improved hardware support and ease of setup and my experience has been very positive.
The review is at Distrowatch.com in their news section. I would post the url but the forum software does not allow new members to post urls. Perhaps one of you would be kind enough to post it in a reply in this thread.

Have fun
Ralph Ellis

There are no proprietary video drivers in OpenBSD so there is no 2D or 3D acceleration. OpenBSD does this for security reasons.
My understanding is that Intel and ATI drivers have DRI

Yeah, the bit about no 2D and 3D acceleration is not true. In fact, the 2 video card mentioned (an AMD HD3200 and HD4650) should have both 2D acceleration and basic 3D acceleration.

I have 8 Gig of memory.
The video performance is surprisingly good with the open source radeon driver. The big differences are a smaller choice in the number of resolutions and I have not figured out how to get sound to play through my HDMI output to my TV when I watch video there. The frames per second are not as good in mplayer with the radeon driver vs the proprietary one but VLC does quite well.

Yeah, that error really stood out for me, too. It was true at one time, but not now.
