Default Dual boot with Windows 8: Fast Startup puts data at risk

From http://h-online.com/-1780640

Quote:
The new Fast Startup feature of Windows 8 puts the filesystem's integrity at risk if other operating systems are used to write to Windows partitions. Data loss is particularly likely with dual-boot configurations that involve Linux and Windows 8.
If you read the article you will understand that any OS writing to a Windows 8 writable partition has the same problem as long as Windows 8 Fast Startup has been enabled
