Default Importing private messages?

It seems this forum software allows users to export private messages into a handful of useful formats.

Unfortunately no functionality exists to "import" messages, is it an available module?

There is no default method or hack to import private messages, so apparently the export function is to archive many private messages to a different location without going through each one to copy and paste.
