I would start by following these instructions:
Code:
xinit: unable to run server "/usr/X11R6/bin/X": No such file or directory
Use the -- option, or make sure that /usr/X11R6/bin is in your path and
that "/usr/X11R6/bin/X" is a program or a link to the right type of server
for your display.
Does /usr/X11R6/bin/X exist? If so, what do you get as output when you run $ file /usr/X11R6/bin/X?

If the file does not exist, either you neglected to install the xserv57.tgz fileset -- see FAQ 4.11 -- or your system is damaged.

Based solely on the limited information you have posted, it appears you do not have a video card that can be used with hardware acceleration. Gnome 3 requires hardware accelerated video.

If you want Gnome 3 on OpenBSD, you'll apparently need a different video card.
Code:
gnome-session-is-accelerated: No hardware 3D support.

This thread is a little more up to date plus it is from the Gnome3 maintainer
http://undeadly.org/cgi?action=artic...20140219085851

Gnome requires some services that are bundled in with gdm and it is strongly recommended that you use gdm with gnome.

As far as the issue regarding video acceleration, the key line you are looking for in your dmesg is
Code:
radeondrm0
or

Code:
inteldrm0
.

I'll supply the current Gnome Meta pkg README. Note that the messagebus entry was recently changed from dbus_daemon. You should have a guide specific to your installation in
/usr/local/share/doc/pkg-readmes/
Quote:
$OpenBSD: README-main,v 1.34 2015/04/04 09:36:38 ajacoutot Exp $

+-----------------------------------------------------------------------
| Running ${FULLPKGNAME} on OpenBSD
+-----------------------------------------------------------------------

(see "Cheat sheet" at the end of this file for a quick setup)

The GNOME desktop is composed of 2 meta-packages:
* gnome, for a standard GNOME installation
* gnome-extras, for a full GNOME installation

The "gnome" package is focused on generic usage to give the user the
choice to install his favorite applications for daily usage (i.e. PIM,
WWW browser, office and development applications have been left out on
purpose).

Starting GNOME
==============

DBus
----
Before running gnome-session(1), a system-wide D-Bus daemon needs to be
running ("messagebus" must be added to "pkg_scripts" in rc.conf.local(8)).

GDM
---
Session management requires the use of GDM as login manager, otherwise
some key features like screen locking, session tracking... will not work
properly. To do so, "gdm" must be added at the end of "pkg_scripts" in
rc.conf.local(8) (and "xdm_flags" commented or removed).

GDM greeter language and character set is configured in:
${SYSCONFDIR}/gdm/locale.conf

Alternative (non-GDM) GNOME startup
-----------------------------------
*** NOT RECOMMENDED ***
To start GNOME without GDM, the following line needs to be added:
exec ${LOCALBASE}/bin/ck-launch-session ${TRUEPREFIX}/bin/gnome-session
to ~/.xinitrc when using startx(1) (console login)
to ~/.xsession when using xdm(1) (xdm(1) or similar login)

mDNS/DNS-SD support
===================
The avahi-daemon(8) daemon provides Zeroconf support (aka. Bonjour /
Rendezvous) in GNOME. Several applications can optionally benefit from
it (e.g. the "Network" shortcut in nautilus(1)) while some others
will not work at all without it (e.g. seahorse-sharing(1)).

To make use of it, rc.conf.local(8) needs to contain the following line:
multicast_host=YES
and "avahi_daemon" must be added to "pkg_scripts" _after_ "messagebus".

GNOME Welcome Tour
==================
To run the GNOME Welcome Tour when a user logs in for the first time,
the file ~/.config/run-welcome-tour must exist and contain "yes". Either
create it manually or add it to skel (see user(8)) before creating users.

Cheat sheet
===========
$ echo "yes" > ~/.config/run-welcome-tour
# rcctl disable xdm
# rcctl enable multicast_host
# for i in messagebus avahi_daemon gdm; do rcctl enable $i; done
# reboot

This one does.

Don't assume just because you can run one thing you can run other things.

It looks like you have all kinds of hardware in your $$$ystem . I'm jealous.
I see 2 sound devices (azalia0 and envy0)

First off your radeon firmware did not get intalled. See https://daemonforums.org/showthread.php?t=9020 and fw_update(1)
# fw_update should install the firmware.

The second issue is that X windows can be started 2 ways: from a command line prompt using $ startx or from a X window display manager (xdm, slim, kdm, gdm). For Gnome3 starting from gdm is recommended. See OpenBSD FAQ for more information.
To accomplish this remove .xinitrc from your home directory and
run the following commands from the pkg-readme
Code:
Cheat sheet
===========
$ echo "yes" > ~/.config/run-welcome-tour
# rcctl disable xdm
# rcctl enable multicast_host
# for i in dbus_daemon avahi_daemon gdm; do rcctl enable $i; done
# reboot

Thank you, Philippe, for posting answers to my questions to you. As you can see, this error in your dmesg helped point to fw_update(1):
Code:
error: [drm:pid0:rv770_startup] *ERROR* Failed to load firmware!
drm:pid0:rv770_init *ERROR* disabling GPU acceleration
And as has been noted, you will need to ensure dbus is running and that you start Gnome with GDM, as outlined in the OpenBSD README file in /usr/local/share/doc/pkg-readmes.

The one remaining question was to learn if your $PATH environment variable was not configured properly, based on the error message "gnome-session not found" which we can see had a different cause -- you had failed to configure .xinitrc for manually starting Gnome -- which the README states is not recommended, as GDM provides needed functionality.

Please correct your configuration as shep has recommended, and try to run Gnome once more. Then, if you have any additional questions, please ask.

I had an error in my earlier post. The dbus_daemon was renamed messagebus recently in current. The service was previously named dbus_daemon which is the correct syntax in OpenBSD 5.7

You also need to remove
Code:
gnome_enable=YES
from /etc/rc.conf.local.
That is a FreeBSD configuration. In OpenBSD starting gnome through gdm accomplishes the same thing.

# echo $PATH
/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin
#
# for i in messagebus avahi_daemon gdm; do rcctl enable $i; done
rcctl: service messagebus does not exist
#
# cat /etc/rc.conf.local
gdm_enable=YES
gnome_enable=YES
multicast_host=YES
pkg_scripts=avahi_daemon gdm

also i've installed fw_update

after reboot, i can run startx but there are the old xwindow manager !

this is my output while startx command :

Part of this was my error, I had pasted the directions from the upcoming release. The prior post has been corrected.

Code:
# cat /etc/rc.conf.local
gdm_enable=YES
gnome_enable=YES
multicast_host=YES
pkg_scripts=avahi_daemon gdm
#
Should be
Code:
# cat /etc/rc.conf.local
multicast_host=YES
pkg_scripts=dbus_daemon avahi_daemon gdm
#

hi all, thanks for your help!

I've do corrected the " /etc/rc.conf.local".
Code:
# cat /etc/rc.conf.local
multicast_host=YES
pkg_scripts=dbus_daemon avahi_daemon gdm
#
now after reboot the gdm flashes for 4 secondes and stay at the promt VT100, black screen with Login !

at the manualy command >> startx there are the old xwindow manager.

were not far from the solution !!!

Maybe can i add the file "xinitrc" with parametres !

Regards
Philippe

There should be an error in your latest /var/log/Xorg.0.log and perhaps one in your home directory .xsession-errors

Also, did the firmware upload and is it showing in your dmesg?
