I am running OpenBSD 4.3, I would like to set my secound NIC to promiscuous for monitoring reasons and suggestions?

The pcap(3) library may be useful to you, it's in base, also.. tcpdump(8) sets the PROMISC flag on the appropriate interface, the version of tcpdump in base was audited by the OpenBSD developers though.

Snort 2.8.0.1 is in packages, and is lots of fun. BASE is a web front-end that makes it even more fun.

My objective is to just set my NIC into promiscuous mode so for any program I use I will have that stetting, I dont even know if that's possible. If it isnt I will be needing a way to set it in that mode in C so my program I am writing will work right. |
