Install OpenBSD httpd on FreeBSD?

No.

You could have used keyword OpenBSD and search through FreeBSD ports.

Note that the FreeBSD ports versions of some OpenBSD software like relayd are really old that should not be used. If you need contemporary relayd you should run OpenBSD.

The packages of OpenBSD are open source code. Why can't I just install the latest version of a package of OpenBSD on FreeBSD?

Somebody needs to create a port. code has to be written in portable fashion. For example the version of OpenSSH which we use on the OpenBSD is different than the portable OpenSSH everyone else uses.

You are welcome to copy the source tree to FreeBSD and attempt to compile and run it there.

You may discover that even though both OSes are POSIX-compliant, that is not enough. This is because the application infrastructures of the two BSDs have differences.

If so, you may have to do some porting of the application get it to run successfully on FreeBSD.

I'm trying to decide which webserver to use and I found OpenBSD's server is in packages.
