Exclamation shutdown/reboot now require membership of group _shutdown

Interesting article in the OpenBSD Journal. Shutdown going forward requires membership of group _shutdown

I was interested in the referenced discussion but my searches for Marc openbsd-tech, openbsd-misc came up empty. Individual permissions to run /sbin/shutdown are easy to implement with doas(1)

I also use doas to enable rw permission to /dev/cd0c. In older Arch Linux releases there used to be a disk group. Anyone know if there were any showstoppers in the discussion for individuals who want to burn cd/dvd/bluray disks as users or if the conversation ever expanded beyond shutdown?

Shep: there are probably several ways to handle optical drive permission. I use hotplugd(8) as my optical drive is USB connected, and I assume that fbtab(5) could be used to set permissions / ownership at login/logout also.
