Help requested on rsnapshot
I would like to store backups on a removeable drive which I manually mount as:
mount /dev/sd1a /mnt According to the config file /etc/rsnapshot: # If no_create_root is enabled, rsnapshot will not automatically create the # snapshot_root directory. This is particularly useful if you are backing # up to removable media, such as a FireWire or USB drive. # My question quite simply is - How do I tell rsnapshot to store backups on that removeable usb drive? Thanks as always for any assistance. Stan |

Point snapshot_root at the directory you'll mount the drive to. I suggest you create a directory on the drive and point at that so it won't exist when not mounted and no_create_root will prevent backing up to the local disk.
So snapshot_root would be set to something like /mnt/backup/ |
