Default Groundhog day

Today is groundhog day, so I thought I'd post a few pic's of groundhogs I've taken.

Before I had the digital camera, I had one very personal groundhog encounter. I was walking past a park. It may have been an early spring day, with intermittent sun and cloud, and lots of snow and ice that was half-gone from the ground. In the park I noticed a groundhog sniffing around. Every time the sun came out and shone on it, its fur turned into the most amazing gold colour. I stood on the sidewalk watching it. After a while, the groundhog came out onto the sidewalk about 10 feet ahead of me. I wasn't sure what it would do. Would it attack me? Would it go out onto the street? So I decided just to stand very still. The groundhog moved toward me slowly and stopped right at my feet! It stood there for maybe 10 or 20 seconds, probably thinking I was some kind of weird tree or telephone pole. (Maybe it was right?!) I was worried it would go onto the street if I scared it, but it eventually moved back out into the park. Truly amazing experience.

Added: If you have any groundhog pics/videos/stories feel free to add them to this thread if you'd like.

I won't deny I find those incredibly lovely. And I like your natural style of framing. What sort of digital camer are you using?

Thanks, I'm glad you liked them. I think the pictures were simply cut out from larger pic's to focus on the good part. I am just a rank amateur at photo stuff so if there is anything good about them it's just an accident.

As for the camera, it is not very new (2009 purchase) and was very cheap (about Cdn $ 65 on sale if I recall). It is a Fujifilm A160, 10.2 megapixel. It's still working fine, which is nice.
