Also, it would be great if someone could create a mount_ utility based on sharity light which mounts CIFS shares as NFS directories. The point of this endevour would be to be to give users with ypldap access to the server access to their Windows/AD home directories. For example, if a user's "K:" drive is their home directory in Windows/AD, logging in to OpenBSD through ypldap would look up their "home" share from AD, call mount_cifs2nfs (or whatever) with their credentials, and automatically mount a corresponding "\\home\userx\k" partition. |

While I have my own wish list of network related features and performance improvements the biggest difference for me personally would be file system improvements.
WAPBL already works on Bitrig and it should not be too difficult to have it working on vanilla OpenBSD. Also apparently somebody took a bite and start playing with HAMMER2 https://github.com/bradla/OpenBSD-Hammer2 While HAMMER2 is for now science fiction file system even on DragonFly it would be nice to be able to port it to OpenBSD if it ever gets finished. I also like DF NFS stack. It would be probably worth while looking at least into NFSv3 OpenBSD implementation and trying to get some performance improvement. |

I think this years projects are more reasonable for such an event. |
