Default AWS is paying to make Rust safe

From https://www.techzine.eu/news/devops/...ake-rust-safe/:
Quote:
Rust has emerged as a memory-safe alternative to C and C++. However, the standard library still often uses unsafe functions as 7,500 out of 35,000 of them fall into this category. AWS and the Rust Foundation plan to eliminate them through crowdsourcing and a financial carrot on a stick.

Well, good luck to AWS. Memory-safe, my a*s. Rust still has a long way to go, for now I consider it a hobbyst's language. I remember a huuuge thread on the FreeBSD forums, there are some solid arguments there against Rust. Beware, we're looking at 30+ pages of comments/debate. To each, his own, right?
