Question Intel i5-7400T and OpenBSD

Hi!
The processor is QuadCore Intel Core i5-7400T, 2900 MHz (29 x 100)
My friend wants to get rid of his old computer, because the processor is not officially supported by Windows 11. He offers me a really good price for it, but he'll keep the Nvidia graphics card for himself. The computer will run with only the integrated graphics in the processor, which is more than enough for my needs. I've got a question:
How well does OpenBSD support QuadCore Intel Core i5-7400T, 2900 MHz (29 x 100)? Will I be able to watch youtube videos in 1080p without lagging, using the integrated graphics? Is it enough to run Blender? Thanks

Hi,

Segun the Intel page, it seems this is the embedded Graphic processor HD 630.

Usually, the intel(4) supports this.

More than likely, inteldrm(4) will be the kernel driver, and with EFI boot, modesetting(4) will be the X Windows driver. There's an r/openbsd reddit comment thread that mentions the HD 630 with inteldrm() here.

In the last few months I was researching Intel HD 630 support due to a potential computer purchase, and I recall seeing it in one of the dmesg's that somebody posted here. But now I can't find it with the forum search feature, nor with DDG/Google either. Hopefully somebody who has one will be able to comment on performance though.

If you search for 'graphics 630' on NYC*BUG's dmesgd you'll find a few dmesgs with an Intel UHD 630:

Correction: I had actually been looking for UHD 630, rather than HD 630 as applies to i5-7400T. (Not sure if it makes much difference.)

It seems Intel Graphic HD and UHD are different families!
HD is more oldier than UHD.

Thanks for the link Yes, UHD Graphics is newer, but one practical question is "backward compatibility". According to this 2017 phoronix article, the UHD is just a re-branding of the prior HD Graphics without significant architectural changes to the graphics hardware.
