5.9 amd64 kernel panic after 004_mbuf.patch.sig patch
I applied the 004 patch cleanly to both an i386 and an amd64 system. The i386 boots but on both the *.sp and *.mp kernels, I am now getting a kernel panic around the time the radeondrm module loads. Any one else with this problem.
After backing up my /home directory, I'm going to try 1) Disabling radeondrm 2) Downloading the mtier *tgz and extracting the kernels I'm considering 1) Reloading, repatching the source code and rebuilding 2) Upgrading to current Haven't seen anything on the bugs@openbsd.org lists. Edit: I normally run make clean && make in the compile directories and then manually copy the kernel over to /. The patch instructions use "make install", so after backing up, I ran "make install" in the /usr/src/sys/arch/amd64/compile directory. Works fine now. Not sure what make install does that manually copying the kernel does not. Last edited by shep; 2nd May 2016 at 04:48 PM. Reason: make install |
