Installation programs
I would like to try NetBSD but I cannot find a description of the installation programs.
From the installation directory: Code:
NetBSD-10.0_RC1-amd64-bios-install.img.gz 06-Nov-2023 02:33 824M NetBSD-10.0_RC1-amd64-bios-install.img.gz.torrent 07-Nov-2023 14:10 32K NetBSD-10.0_RC1-amd64-install.img.gz 06-Nov-2023 02:29 825M NetBSD-10.0_RC1-amd64-install.img.gz.torrent 07-Nov-2023 14:10 32K NetBSD-10.0_RC1-amd64-live.img.gz 06-Nov-2023 02:41 431M NetBSD-10.0_RC1-amd64-live.img.gz.torrent 07-Nov-2023 14:10 34K NetBSD-10.0_RC1-amd64.iso 06-Nov-2023 02:26 594M

UEFI installs (& BIOS, I think) are done with install.img - UEFI still under development, but worked for me....
bios-install.img works on BIOS systems (only), the old way, before UEFI.

I don't understand why this has not been documented somewhere ........

Anyone have an explanation for the 824M - 594M size discrepency between the usb images and the CD iso?

The file system on the iso is different than the image, so I would guess block sizes comes into play.

The difference between the two USB images has been documented in the Quick install notes for the impatient from the NetBSD/NetBSD-10.0_RC4/amd64/INSTALL.html document :
