Code:
# GIT_TRACE=1 GIT_CURL_VERBOSE=1 git clone --verbose https://github.com/punesemu/puNES

Any tips where should i look, what should i check?
(The problem is not with the repository: it hangs on all repositories. Edit: Also, curl works, so it's not an issue of curl.)
