OpenIndiana build 148 released
From http://www.h-online.com/open/news/it...d-1157125.html
Quote:
The Illumos Foundation has announced the arrival of OpenIndiana build 148 (oi_148), a fork, or 'spork' as the developers describe it, based on Oracle's OpenSolaris. The second development version is based upon Solaris Nevada Build 148 – the first development build of OpenIndiana (oi_147) was based on OpenSolaris build 147.
[snip]
Originally launched in September of this year, OpenIndiana aims to be binary and package compatible with Solaris 11 and Solaris 11 Express and to act as a "free drop in replacement" for OpenSolaris. The developers compare their development model to the way the CentOS project is based on the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) source. OpenIndiana combines the official OpenSolaris source with free, open source software from the community.
