The last time I used tape backup was in the late 1980's. It was a Taiwanese tape drive that connected to a floppy disk interface of an IBM XT compatible. It was used to backup computers in a small company network.
It seems that nowadays only Tandberg has a tape drive suitable for private or small business use. A few days ago, while browsing, I saw an USB 3.2 tape drive for around 400 euro. But I cannot find it anymore. When I first heard of Amazon Glacier, with a wait period of a few hours, I wondered whether they used tape storage.
