Default New Guy trying to install FreeBSD

Hello there, I think this is my first post here on Daemon Forums, so Hi Everybody!

I have a Dell PE 2450 that I want to use to serve music to my Roku Soundbridge, and if I understand correctly that means it will need to be a file server and will also need to run Firefly (formerly called mt-daapd).

I intended to use iTunes on a Windows machine to rip music to the server, and from there, Firefly will stream the music to the Soundbridge.

Am I on the right track so far? I have many more questions to come but let's make sure I get it right.

Thank you everybody for any help you can provide!

You can also rip your tunes directly on the FreeBSD box if it's equiped with a CD player. The "grip" application would do the trick.
