Dual-booting WinXP, FreeBSD; unlikely disk geometry
Hello. I am trying to install FreeBSD 7. I have WinXP on one partition. The MBR is the WinXP MBR. I try to install FreeBSD 7 but when I get to the fdisk utility it tells me that the disk geometry seems incorrect and instead it will try a different (more likely) disk geometry. I don't want to continue because I don't want my WinXP partition to be wrecked. Also, when I go into my BIOS there does not appear to be any disk geometry information. Has anyone had any similar experiences and can you suggest what I should do? Thank you.
Note, my hard drive is a SATA drive with about 150GB. My WinXP partition is about 80GB, and I want a 20GB partition for FreeBSD 7. Last edited by ronaldmcdonald9; 7th July 2008 at 06:14 AM. |
