Question Zoom call not supported in a web browser

I am running OpenBSD current on an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1185G7 @ 3.00GHz (install details). Most of my collaborators sadly use Zoom for video calls. This doesn't work very well for me (progress on the problems here).

The main issue: When I connect to one of Zoom instances that we use, I can see that my video and microphone work. They also work with Jitsi. However, when I actually "join" the room, it tells me the web browser does not support the audio device and I should upgrade to the latest web browser. This is with the most recent Iridium web browser; see also the script I'm using for this.

Does someone here know if I could fix this issue (on the client side)?

All of my collaborators use one of the three popular operating systems, so I'm not getting any support from them. Besides this issue the laptop is running very well, so I hope I don't need to deviate to other operating systems.

Disclaimer: I have never used Zoom.

The misc@ mailing list tells me that Zoom will work with Chrome if you change the ownership of the audio device and set the WebAssembly environment variable ENABLE_WASM to 1 before executing it. A little further testing of browsers tells me that WebAssembly is enabled by default for Firefox and not available with Iridium.

Try switching browsers.

Thanks, jggimi. Switching from Iridium to Chromium resolves the issue!
