Intel 4965AGN WiFi card (802.11n)

I just ordered a new ThinkPad T61 with a 4965AGN wifi card. I'd like to run FreeBSD on it, but after doing some research I'm a little unclear as to whether or not there's driver support for that wifi card in FreeBSD. Can anyone help me out with this?

I honestly don't know, OpenBSD has an iwn(4) driver.. but I can't seem to find that via FreeBSD man pages.

Try looking here though, Damien seems to be the author of the driver.

Ah, interesting. I'm pretty new to FreeBSD (installed it for the first time on my MacBook a couple months back and pretty much fell in love), so I'm not sure I really want to deal with -CURRENT.

Not knowing a whole lot about the FreeBSD development cycle, does the fact that the drivers are in -CURRENT (which, as I understand it, is basically the development branch that will be released as 8.0) mean it's unlikely that they'll appear in -STABLE any time soon?

Or should I just be able to install from source (something I'm definitely not afraid of doing)?

Depends on developers interest in porting it to 6. STABLE/7. STABLE.

At the moment I'm leaning towards running Linux on it for the drivers, but I hear they aren't very stable yet. :/

Yeah, looks like I'll be running Gentoo on the ThinkPad for now. Oh well.
