power button does not shutdown ThinkPad

I have two ThinkPads (X200 w/ Libreboot and P14s with newest official Lenovo BIOS), both running OpenBSD-current. Neither shutdown when shortly pressing the power button.

Furthermore,

machdep.pwraction=1
hw.allowpowerdown=1

Of course, shutdown -p works nicely (especially after addition of _shutdown group), but is inconvenient as my .xsession needs to do something additional after the window manager closes. Pressing the power button is the most convenient. Why does this not work?

My Thinkpad X450 will shutdown and power off, but it requires more than a momentary press of the power button. Two seconds worked. It took the system another several seconds to begin the sequence.

Ah, right. On my X200 it takes about 1 s before it starts a shutdown.

However, on the P14s this does not work. I tried adding a second at every try, until it powers off instantly. That's no good. I now run

shutdown -p +1

and then logout, because it has to run a task before power down (and I do not want to login on a vc just to power down).

It's fine. It is a new laptop. Maybe this will get fixed at some point.
